Sta je tempura? (What is tempura?)

- Skampi

- Batat

- Tikvica

- Paprika

- Sampinjoni

- Brokoli

- Karfiol

- Patlidžan

Ukratko: tempura - pohovanje.

Tempura:

- tanko, retko testo

- hrskavo, vazdušasto

- brzo prženje

Pohovanje:

- deblje testo (brašno, jaje, prezle)

- deblja korica

- duže prženje

Tempura is a Japanese dish in which vegetables or seafood (most often shrimp) are coated in a light, thin batter and quickly fried in deep oil. The result is a very crispy crust that is airy and not heavy.

What are the characteristics of tempura?

- The batter is thin and runny (more like a "foam" than a classic frying)

- It is fried briefly and at a high temperature

- The crust is super crispy, but not thick

- It is most often served with a dipping sauce (similar to soy sauce or sweet and sour sauce)

The most common ingredients for tempura:

- Shrimp

- Sweet potato (batata)

- Zucchini

- Bell pepper

- Mushrooms

- Broccoli

- Cauliflower

- Eggplant

In short: tempura - frying.

Tempura:

- thin, sparse batter

- crispy, airy

- quick frying

Frying:

- thicker batter (flour, egg, breadcrumbs)

- thicker crust

- longer frying
