Tresnja kordial (Cherry cordial)

Kordial je slatko pice s ukusom voca.

Sastojci: 700 g trešanja (bez koštica, sa peteljkama, tamne, sveže, slatke), 400 g kristal šećera, 500 ml vode, 1 ½ kašičice mahune kardamoma (zgnječenih), 2 kašičice rendane kore pomorandže, 125 ml soka od narandže (sveže iscedjenog), 2 stapica cimeta (izlomljen na komade), 5 cm djumbir (svež, oljušten, isečen na tanko).

Priprema:

1. Pomešajte tresnje, šećer, vodu, mahune kardamoma, koru pomorandže, štapiće cimeta i đumbir u serpi.

2. Pustite da provri na srednje jakoj vatri (5), povremeno mešajući. 


3. Smanjite toplotu na srednju (4) i kuvajte, povremeno mešajući, dok trešnje ne omekšaju i tečnost ne postane redak sirup, 20 do 25 minuta. Uklonite sa vatre.

4. Postavite fino sito na veliku posudu otpornu na toplotu. 

5. Sipajte mešavinu tresanja kroz cediljku u činiju, pritiskajući višnje poleđinom kašike da izvučete preostale sokove. 

5. Baciti ostatke. 

6. Dodajte sok od pomorandže u proceđenu mešavinu višanja. 

7. Ostavite da stoji na sobnoj temperaturi, nepokriveno, dok se ne ohladi na sobnu temperaturu, oko 45 minuta. 


Čuvajte u staklenim teglama ili flasama koje se mogu ponovo zatvoriti u frižideru do 10 dana.

Cordial is a sweet fruit-flavoured drink.

Ingredients: 700g cherries (unpitted, unstemmed, fresh, dark, sweet), 400g granulated sugar, 500ml water, 1 ½ teaspoons teaspoons cardamom pods (smashed), 2 teaspoons grated orange peel, 125ml orange juice (freshly squeezed), 2 cinnamon sticks (broken into pieces), 5 cm ginger (fresh, peeled, sliced).


Preparation:

1. Stir together cherries, sugar, water, cardamom pods, orange peel, cinnamon sticks, and ginger in a medium saucepan.

2. Let it boil over medium-high heat (5), stirring occasionally. 

3. Reduce heat to medium (4) and simmer, stirring occasionally, until cherries are tender and liquid is a thin syrup consistency, 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from heat.

4. Set a fine-mesh strainer over a large heatproof bowl. 

5. Pour cherry mixture through strainer into bowl, pressing cherries using the back of a spoon to extract remaining juices. 

5. Discard solids. 

6. Add orange juice into the strained cherry mixture. 

7. Let stand at room temperature, uncovered, until cooled to room temperature, about 45 minutes. 


Keep in resealable glass jars or bottles in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
