Sta je vonton? (What is wonton?)

Vonton (en. wonton) je tradicionalno kinesko jelo koje se sastoji od tankog testa (vonton kore) punjenog različitim nadevima, najčešće mesom i/ili povrćem. Može se kuvati, pariti ili pržiti, a najpoznatiji je kao deo vonton supe.

Osnovno objašnjenje

Vonton je vrsta kineske knedle, slična italijanskim tortelinima ili našim punjenim testeninama, ali sa mnogo tanjim testom i blagim ukusom.

Vonton kore

Vonton kore su:

- veoma tanke

- napravljene od pšeničnog brašna, vode i soli

- često sa dodatkom jajeta

- neutralnog ukusa

Prodaju se sveže ili zamrznute i koriste se isključivo za vontone.

Najčešći nadevi:

- mleveno svinjsko ili pileće meso

- škampi ili riba

- kineski kupus, mladi luk, đumbir, beli luk

- kombinacije mesa i povrća

Načini pripreme:

1. Kuvani – najčešće u bistroj supi (vonton supa)

2. Pareni – mekani i sočni

3. Prženi – hrskavi, često kao predjelo

4. Vonton supa

Najpoznatija verzija:

- Vontoni punjeni mesom ili škampima

- bistri bujon

- mladi luk, ponekad povrće

- Lagana je, ali hranljiva.

Razlika između vontona i sličnih jela:

Vonton – tanje testo, često u supi

Knedle (jiaozi) – deblje testo, obično se kuvaju ili prže

Gjoza – japanska verzija knedli

Basic explanation

Wonton crust

Wonton crusts are:

- very thin

- made from wheat flour, water and salt

- often with the addition of an egg

- neutral taste

They are sold fresh or frozen and are used exclusively for wontons.

The most common fillings:

- minced pork or chicken meat

- shrimp or fish

- Chinese cabbage, spring onion, ginger, garlic

- combinations of meat and vegetables

Methods of preparation:

1. Cooked - usually in a clear soup (wonton soup)

2. Steamed - soft and juicy

3. Fried - crispy, often as an appetizer

4. Wonton soup

The most famous version:

- Wontons filled with meat or shrimp

- clear broth

- spring onions, sometimes vegetables

- It is light, but nutritious.

The difference between wontons and similar dishes:

Wonton – thinner dough, often in soup

Dumplings (jiaozi) – thicker dough, usually boiled or fried

Gyoza – the Japanese version of dumplings
