Sumak je začin koji se dobija od sušenih i samlevenih bobica biljke iz roda Rhus, najčešće vrste Rhus coriaria.

Odakle potiče sumak zacin?

Sumak zacin potiče sa područja Mediterana i Bliskog istoka, a posebno je rasprostranjen u:

  • Libanu
  • Turskoj
  • Siriji
  • Iranu

Danas se koristi i u severnoj Africi i delovima Evrope.

Kakav je ukus sumak zacina?

Sumak ima kiselkast, limunkast i osvežavajući ukus, ali nije agresivan kao limun. Više je blaga, “voćna kiselina”.

Sumak zacin je vrlo popularan u orijentalnoj i mediteranskoj kuhinji:

  • Zatar zacin (jedan od glavnih sastojaka)
