Kako se tradicionalno služi Grčka salata?

U Grčkoj se feta najčešće stavlja u jednom komadu preko salate, a ne mrvi se. Jede se uz svež hleb i maslinovo ulje

Opis

Grčka salata, poznata i kao horiatiki, je tradicionalna mediteranska salata poreklom iz Grčke. Pravi se od jednostavnih, svežih sastojaka, fokus je na povrću, maslinama i siru.

Ingredients (for 2-3 people): 3 large ripe tomatoes (about 500 g), 1 fresh cucumber (about 250 g), 1 small red onion (about 80 g), 150 g of feta cheese, 80 g of black olives (preferably Kalamata, pitted), 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon of wine vinegar or freshly squeezed lemon juice, ½ teaspoon dried oregano.

Preparation:

1. Peel the tomatoes. Peel the cucumber. Clean the onion. Cut the tomato into large pieces. Cut the cucumber into rings or semicircles. Cut the onion into thin crescents. If the onion is strong, you can briefly soak it in cold water for 5 minutes and strain. Cut the black olives in half. Leave the feta in a piece or coarsely crumble it.

2. Put all the vegetables in a bowl, add the olives.

3. Pour over olive oil and vinegar or lemon juice.

4. Sprinkle with oregano.

5. Stir gently.

6. Add feta on top.

Note: if you use fresh lemon juice you have to eat it within 24 hours.

How is Greek salad traditionally served?

In Greece, feta is usually placed in one piece over the salad, not crumbled. It is eaten with fresh bread and olive oil.
