There are days that don't require anything big. Just something sweet, cold and quiet, to stop your thoughts for a moment. On such days, the kitchen becomes a place where everything slows down, and simple things suddenly gain importance.
I remember how dessert used to be made in a glass without much planning. The biscuit would be broken along the way, the fruit would be mashed with a fork, and the scent of lemon would spread through the space like a small announcement of something beautiful that was yet to come. There was no rush, because these desserts never sought perfection.
Just layers, spoon by spoon, and that feeling that everything would turn out just right in the end. Sweet, creamy and light enough to leave room for another glass of peace.
