New on the blog - Mini stories (Novo na blogu - Mini price)

From now on, there will be short stories, thoughts and small moments of inspiration at the end of the recipes. Sometimes it will be a memory, sometimes a few sentences that relax, motivate or simply prolong the feeling that the recipe brings.

Food is not just a list of ingredients and preparation steps. Sometimes it's a smell that reminds you of childhood, a cup of coffee in silence or a few moments of peace at the end of the day.

That's why each recipe will have its own little story, intended to slow down the day, make you smile or leave warmth even after the last bite.

I hope you will find something of your own in them.

How did I come up with this idea?

Whenever I see sour cherries, I remember my Nana (grandma) who was always kneading and making something. Seeing her not measuring the ingredients, one day I asked her: "Nano, how do I know how much flour, sugar, and walnuts to put in?"

She would answer: "Ah, I have it in handfuls, a handful of this, a handful of that, it depends on what and how much I have."

Back then, even though I was little, I didn't even understand spoons as a measure because my grandmother had two sizes of tablespoons. I also didn't understand whether to use a full or a flat spoon. And when she told me to put it "in a handful", I was even more confused. Her handful was bigger than mine.

And so, when I see figs, I remember... but that's another story.

The Minuette Food Recipes


Od sada će se na kraju recepata nalaziti i kratke priče, misli i mali trenuci inspiracije. Nekada će to biti sećanje, nekada nekoliko rečenica koje opuštaju, motivišu ili jednostavno produžavaju osećaj koji recept nosi.

Hrana nije samo spisak sastojaka i koraci pripreme. Ponekad je to miris koji podseća na detinjstvo, šolja kafe u tišini ili nekoliko trenutaka mira na kraju dana. 

Zato će svaki recept dobiti i svoju malu priču, namenjenu da uspori dan, izmami osmeh ili ostavi toplinu i nakon poslednjeg zalogaja.

Nadam se da ćete u njima pronaći nešto svoje.

Kako sam došla na ovu ideju?

Kad god vidim višnje, setim se moje nane koja je stalno nešto mesila i pravila. Gledajući je kako ne meri sastojke, jednog dana sam je pitala: „Nano, kako da znam koliko da stavim brašna, šećera, oraha?“

Ona bi odgovorila: „Ah, ja to na šake, šaka ovoga, šaka onoga, zavisi šta i koliko imam.“

Tada, iako mala, nisam razumela ni kašike kao meru jer je nana imala dve veličine supenih kašika. Takođe mi nije bilo jasno da li ide puna ili ravna kašika. A kad mi je rekla da stavlja „na šake“, tek mi ništa nije bilo jasno. Njena šaka je bila veća nego moja.

I tako, kad vidim smokve, setim se… ali to je neka druga priča.
