Kako skuvati edamame? (How to cook edamame?)

4 nacina = 2 za edamame mahune i 2 za oljušteni edamame.

1. Kako skuvati edamame u mahunama?

2. U većem loncu stavi dovoljno vode da pokrije edamame i dodaj so. Pusti da voda provri na jakoj temperaturi (6).

4. Procedi edamame i odmah prelij hladnom vodom ili stavi u cediljku pod hladnu vodu da zaustaviš kuvanje i zadržiš lepu boju.

5. Pospi malo krupne soli i posluži.

- Mahune čuvaj u frižideru u zatvorenoj posudi do 2 dana – zrna i dalje ostaju sočna.

3. Kako skuvati oljušteni edamame?

(sama zrna, bez mahuna)

Sastojci: 200 g oljuštenih edamame zrna, voda, ½ kašičice soli (po ukusu).

Priprema:

1. U manjem loncu stavi dovoljno vode da prekrije zrna i dodaj so. Pusti da provri na jakoj temperaturi (6).

3. Stavi oljuštena zrna edamamea na stalak i poklopi.

4. Parite zrna edamamea 4–5 minuta, dok ne postanu svetlo zelena i blago mekana.

5. Skloni sa sporeta.

- Čuvaj u frižideru u zatvorenoj posudi do 2–3 dana – i dalje ostaju mekana i sočna.

4 ways = 2 for edamame pods and 2 for peeled edamame.

1. How to cook edamame in pods?

Ingredients: 250 g of fresh or frozen edamame in pods, water, salt (to taste, usually 1 teaspoon (4 g) per 500 ml of water).

Preparation:

1. If the pods are fresh, wash them well.

If the pods are frozen, you can use them directly from the freezer.

2. Put enough water in a large pot to cover the edamame and add salt. Let the water boil at a high temperature (6).

3. Reduce the temperature to medium high (5), add the edamame and cook for 3-5 minutes if they are fresh, or 5-6 minutes if they are frozen.

The pods should turn light green and soften slightly, but they must not split open.

4. Strain the edamame and immediately pour cold water over it or put it in a colander under cold water to stop the cooking and keep the color beautiful.

5. Sprinkle some coarse salt and serve.

Edamame is eaten by scooping the beans out of the pod directly into the mouth - the pods themselves are not eaten.

Tip:

For extra taste, you can add some garlic or chili flakes to the water.

2. How to steam edamame in pods?

Ingredients: 200–250 g of edamame in pods, water for steaming, ½ teaspoon of salt.

Preparation:

1. Pour 2-3 cm of water into a pot or pan with a lid and place the steam rack above the water.

2. Place the edamame pods on a rack so that they do not touch the water. Cover it.

3. Let the water boil and steam the beans for 5-7 minutes, depending on the size and freshness.

The pods should become light green, and the beans inside should be soft but firm.

4. Remove from the stove, sprinkle a little coarse salt and serve.

5. The beans are taken out of the pods directly into the mouth - the pods themselves are not eaten.

Tips

- Steaming is a healthier method than boiling in water, because fewer vitamins are lost.

- For extra taste, you can add some garlic powder or chili flakes to the pods before steaming.

- Store the pods in the refrigerator in a closed container for up to 2 days - the beans will still remain juicy.

3. How to cook shelled edamame beans?

(beans only, without pods)

Ingredients: 200 g of shelled edamame beans, water, ½ teaspoon of salt (to taste).

Preparation:

1. Put enough water in a small pot to cover the grains and add salt. Let it boil at a high temperature (6).

2. Put the shelled edamame beans in boiling water. Cook for 3-5 minutes, until they become light green and soft, but still firm.

3. Strain the grains through a strainer and immediately transfer them to a bowl of cold water or rinse them under cold water to stop cooking and preserve the beautiful color.

4. Serve warm, salted to taste, or use in salads, soups or as an addition to dishes.

Tips:

- Shelled edamame beans are cooked shorter than those in pods - make sure they don't split.

- For extra taste, you can add a pinch of garlic powder or a little lemon juice to the water.

- If you are making them for later use, cool them quickly and store them in a closed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

4. How to steam shelled edamame beans?

Ingredients: 200 g of peeled edamame beans, water for steaming, ½ teaspoon of salt (optional)

Preparation:

1. Pour some water into a pot or pan with a lid (about 2-3 cm) and let it boil at a high temperature (6).

2. Place a metal or bamboo steaming rack above the water so that the edamame beans do not touch the water.

3. Place the edamame beans on the rack and cover.

4. Steam the edamame for 4-5 minutes, until they become light green and slightly soft.

5. Remove from the stove.

6. Add salt to taste or add a little olive oil and spices as desired.

Serve as a snack, in addition to salads or bowl meals.

Tips:

- Steaming is a better method than classic cooking because the beans do not lose vitamins and minerals in the water.

- If you want, you can add spices to the steam: a little red paprika powder, garlic powder or chili flakes.

- Store in the refrigerator in a sealed container for up to 2–3 days – they will still stay soft and juicy.
