🇹🇷 İçli köfte (also known as kibbeh) is a stuffed meatball and is one of the oldest dishes of the Middle East, and its roots go back more than 4000 years, even to the time of ancient Mesopotamia. It is thought to have originated as a practical way to combine meat, grains and nuts into a nutritious meal that is easy to form, transport and store.
🇱🇧 This dish spread along trade routes through today's Lebanon, Syria, Turkey and Armenia, so every region today has its own version, somewhere it's fried, somewhere it's cooked, and somewhere it's baked in the oven.
