✅ Šta ide u termos:
- pasulj, gulaš, čorbe
- pilav, pirinač sa mesom
- testenina sa sosom
- jela sa malo tečnosti (bolje zadržavaju toplotu)
❌ Šta NE ide (kvari ukus ili brzo hladi):
- salate sa majonezom ili jogurtom
- pržena hrana (omekša se i “uvene”)
- jako suva hrana bez sosa
- mlečni dodaci direktno u termos (ako stoje dugo)
Trikovi da drži 10h:
- pre punjenja naliti ključalu vodu 2–3 min
- ubaciti HRANU VRELU, ne mlaku
- napuniti termos do vrha (manje vazduha = duže toplo)
1. Kuvana jela (najbolje)
- pasulj
- čorbe i supe
- gulaš
- pileći paprikas ili juneći paprikaš
sataraš
2. Jela na kašiku ili sočnija hrana
- pilav sa mesom
- pirinac sa povrćem i piletinom
- testenina sa sosom
- musaka (ako nije presuva)
3. Kašasta i “kompaktna” hrana
- ovsena kaša (slana ili slatka)
- palenta - kacamak
- kuvana boranija, kuvani grašak
- pire + sos + meso
1. Sirovo i sveže
- salate (zelena, paradajz, krastavac)
- sveže povrće bez termičke obrade
2. Hleb i “hrskavo”
- sendviči (omekšaju i postanu gnjecavi)
- pohovano i prženo (izgubi hrskavost skroz)
3. Mlečni i osetljivi dodaci
- jogurt, pavlaka (ako stoji dugo u toplom)
- majonez
- sve što se lako kvari na temperaturi
ZLATNO PRAVILO
Termos voli: toplo + sočno + gusto
Ne voli: suvo + hrskavo + sveže
Mini trik (bitan za smenu)
Ako praviš “smenski obrok”:
- uvek ubaci malo više tečnosti nego u tanjir, jer hrana “pije” vlagu dok stoji
✅ What goes into a thermos:
- beans, stew, soups
- pilaf, rice with meat
- pasta with sauce
- dishes with a little liquid (they retain heat better)
❌ What does NOT work (spoils the taste or cools quickly):
- salads with mayonnaise or yogurt
- fried food (it softens and "withers")
- very dry food without sauce
- milk additions directly in the thermos (if they stand for a long time)
Tricks to keep 10 hours:
- before filling, pour boiling water for 2–3 min
- insert HOT FOOD, not lukewarm
- fill the thermos to the top (less air = longer warm)
What goes and what doesn't go in a thermos (vacuum container for food) — this applies to all 3 types from the article Which type of thermos container is best for which dish?
✅ WHAT GOES IN THE THERMOS? (works perfectly)
These are foods that retain taste and heat for 6-10 hours without any problems:
1. Cooked dishes (the best)
- beans
- broths and soups
- stews
- chicken stew or beef stew
- Balkan-style ratatouille
2. Dishes on a spoon or juicier food
- pilaf with meat
- rice with vegetables and chicken
- pasta with sauce
- moussaka (if not too dry)
3. Porridge like and "compact" food
- oat flakes - rolled oats porridge (salty or sweet)
- polenta
- cooked green beans, cooked peas
- puree + sauce + meat
🟡 IT CAN, BUT IT'S NOT IDEAL
This works, but it depends on the preparation:
- dried meat + side dish (if it has sauce)
- rice without enough liquid (dries faster)
- roasted meat (if it is accompanied by sauce or fat)
❌ WHAT DOESN'T GO IN THE THERMOS?
This spoils the taste, texture or is not safe for long standing:
1. Raw and fresh
- salads (lettuce - green salads, tomato, cucumber)
- fresh vegetables without heat treatment
2. Bread and "crunchy"
- sandwiches (they soften and become gooey)
- deep-fried and fried (it loses its crispiness completely)
3. Milk and sensitive additives
- yogurt, sour cream (if it stays warm for a long time)
- mayonnaise
- everything that spoils easily at temperature
THE GOLDEN RULE
Thermos likes: warm + juicy + thick
Dislikes: dry + crunchy + fresh
Mini trick (important for shift)
If you make a "shift meal":
- always put a little more liquid than in the plate, because the food "drinks" moisture while standing
