Veganski feta sir (Vegan feta cheese)

Sastojci (za oko 150 g feta sira): 100 g indijskih oraha (natopljenih 6 sati ili preko noći), 50 ml vode, 2 kašike soka od limuna, 1 kašičica jabukovog sirćeta, ½ kašičice soli, 1 kašičica nutritivnog kvasca (opciono, za "sirasti" ukus"), ¼ kašičice belog luka u prahu (opciono).

Priprema:

0. Potopiti indijske orahe u vodu na 6 sati ili preko noci (8 h). Dobro ocediti.

1. Staviti u blender.

2. Dodati vodu, limunov sok, sirće, so i po želji nutritivni kvasac i beli luk u prahu.

3. Blendati dok smesa ne postane potpuno glatka i kremasta.

4. Smesu prebaciti u manju posudu obloženu papirom za pečenje ili u silikonski kalup.

5. Poravnati površinu i pokriti folijom ili poklopcem.

6. Ostaviti u frižideru preko noći (8 h) da se stegne.

7. Nakon hlađenja, iseći na kockice ili izlomiti na komadiće, kao klasičnu fetu.

Napomene:

  • Možeš ga kombinovati sa veganskim parmezanom i veganskim kačkavaljem za bogatiji ukus.
  • Za dodatnu aromu, možeš u smesu dodati malo suvog origana ili timijana, koji se lepo slaže sa picom.
  • Tekstura će biti čvršća ako smanjite količinu vode na 40 ml. Manja količina vode čini sir čvršćim i pogodnim za pečenje.
  • Veganski feta sir se može koristiti na picama, salatama ili kao namaz.


Ingredients (for about 150 g of feta cheese): 100 g of cashews (soaked for 6 hours or overnight), 50 ml of water, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, ½ teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of nutritional yeast (optional, for a "cheesy" taste), ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder (optional).

Preparation:

0. Soak cashews in water for 6 hours or overnight (8 hours). Drain well.

1. Put in a blender.

2. Add water, lemon juice, vinegar, salt and, if desired, nutritional yeast and garlic powder.

3. Blend until the mixture becomes completely smooth and creamy.

4. Transfer the mixture to a small container lined with baking paper or to a silicone mold.

5. Level the surface and cover with foil or a lid.

6. Leave in the fridge overnight (8 hours) to set.

7. After cooling, cut into cubes or break into pieces, like classic feta.

Notes:

  • You can combine it with vegan parmesan and vegan yellow cheese for a richer taste.
  • For additional flavor, you can add a little dried oregano or thyme to the mixture, which goes well with pizza.
  • The texture will be firmer if you reduce the amount of water to 40 ml. A smaller amount of water makes the cheese firmer and suitable for baking.
  • Vegan feta cheese can be used on pizzas, salads or as a spread.
