Sta su kajzerice? (What are Kaisers?)

Osnovne karakteristike kajzerica:

  • mekana i vazdušasta unutrašnjost
  • tanka, blago hrskava korica
  • neutralnog ukusa, bez slatkoće
  • standardna težina oko 50–80 g po komadu.

Poreklo naziva:

Kaisers are small, round white buns (pastries) made of wheat dough, recognizable by the star cut on the top (most often with 5 arms).

Basic characteristics of Kaiser women:

  • soft and airy interior
  • thin, slightly crispy crust
  • neutral taste, without sweetness
  • standard weight about 50–80 g per piece.

Origin of the name:

The name comes from the German word Kaiser (emperor), so the Kaiser is often called the imperial country.

How are kaisers used?

The difference compared to other pastries:

  • they are not sweet like milk buns
  • they are smaller and more regular than flatbreads
  • they have a distinctive cut that helps the dough to rise evenly
