Sta je Buda činija? (What is Buddha bowl?)

1. Inspiracija iz budističke kuhinje.

U budističkoj tradiciji postoji ideja o jednostavnoj, vegetarijanskoj hrani i “jednoj činiji” koju monasi koriste.

- brzi

- hranljivi

- vizuelno privlačni

- lako prilagodljivi

Zašto se zove “Buda cinija”?

Najčešće objašnjenje je:

- “Buda” kao simbol jednostavnosti, balansa i vegetarijanske hrane

- “cinija” jer se sve slaže u jednu posudu

Buda bowl is the name for a meal consisting of various healthy foods arranged in one bowl, usually in the style of "one plate, many foods".

It is not a "traditional dish from one country", but rather a modern, western idea that was created as a combination of several concepts from different cuisines.

Buddha bowl is:

- a meal in a bowl

- usually balanced (carbohydrates + proteins + vegetables + healthy fats)

- often plant-based or vegetarian

- it looks like an "artistically arranged meal" because the ingredients are nicely arranged on the bowl

Where does the Buddha bowl come from?

There are several theories, but most agree that:

1. Inspiration from Buddhist cuisine.

In the Buddhist tradition, there is the idea of simple, vegetarian food and the "one bowl" that monks use. That's why it got the name "Buddha bowl".

2) Modern "health trend" from the USA.

As a form of healthy meal, it has been popularized in the last 10-15 years in the USA and Western countries.

People started making meals that are:

- fast

- nutritious

- visually appealing

- easily adaptable

Why is it called the "Buddha bowl"?

The most common explanation is:

- "Buddha" as a symbol of simplicity, balance and vegetarian food

- "bowl" because everything fits in one container
